VinFast, the Vietnamese car manufacturer in India, is set to launch its third vehicle in the country in the form of the MPV 7. Joining the VF6 and VF7 SUVs, the electric car will launch in India on April 15. The automaker has already started taking bookings for the model for a token amount of Rs 21,000.
The upcoming electric MPV is similar in size and seating capacity to VinFast's Limo Green. It stands at 4740 mm in length, 1872 mm in width, and 1734 mm in height. However, the MPV 7 specifically targets individual consumers, setting itself apart with premium features such as leatherette seating, integrated illumination in the front and rear, keyless entry, and larger 19-inch alloy wheels. In contrast, the Limo Green is aimed at commercial use and comes with a more basic set of specifications.

The exterior design is influenced by VinFast's recognisable style, showcasing slim LED headlights and connected taillights. Inside, buyers can look forward to practical elements like a 10.1-inch infotainment display, USB-A and USB-C ports for charging, a height-adjustable driver's seat, and adjustable steering for enhanced ergonomics. It also gets features like TPMS, all disc brakes, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, braking and stability assistance.

The MPV 7 comes with a 60.1 kWh battery that powers a front-mounted electric motor. This configuration is expected to provide around 150 bhp and 280 Nm of torque, with three driving modes and regenerative braking options including Low, Medium, and High. The EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in under 10 seconds, making it suitable for both city driving and highway family travel.

VinFast is continuing to grow its footprint in India's electric vehicle market, where MPVs are popular for their spaciousness and versatility. Presently, the brand has a network strength of 51 showrooms pan India, more than 130 workshops that include 3rd party, extended service providers. Target is to have 75 showrooms by the end of this year.
The VF MPV 7 aims to meet the rising demand for family-centric electric MPVs. It positions itself against well-established rivals like the Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMAX 7, entering a price bracket that aligns with the Mahindra XEV 9S, which is anticipated to start at Rs 19.90 lakh.
