Mahindra To Launch Two New Electric SUVS - BE.07 And BE.09

Mahindra has been keeping the Indian automotive market busy with a string of new launches. In recent months, the company introduced three fresh models - the XEV 9S, the XUV 7XO, and the XUV 3XO EV. Each of these vehicles reflects Mahindra's dual focus: strengthening its conventional SUV portfolio while also pushing forward with electric mobility.

The brand has made it clear that this is only the beginning. Mahindra has confirmed that four to five new models are lined up for release in the near future. These upcoming vehicles will span both internal combustion engine (ICE) categories and electric SUVs, ensuring that buyers with different preferences have options to choose from.

At present, Mahindra's electric portfolio includes "born-electric" SUVs, like- the BE6, XEV 9E, XEV 9S & Mahindra XUV and the 3XO EV. These models were developed from concept designs showcased a few years ago. Out of the five original concepts revealed, three have already reached production. The BE.05 evolved into the BE6, the XUV.e9 became the XEV 9E, and the XEV.e8 was introduced as the seven-seat XEV 9S. The next in line is the BE.07.

Mahindra has officially confirmed that the BE.07, internally referred to as B07, will enter the market in 2027. This SUV is the production version of the BE.07 concept first shown during the Born Electric event in August 2022. It will be built on Mahindra's INGLO platform, the same architecture used across its current EVs. Battery pack options are expected to vary between 60 kWh and 80 kWh, giving buyers flexibility in terms of performance and driving range. The design language is likely to remain consistent with Mahindra's existing electric SUVs, combining sharp styling with modern features.

Another upcoming model is the BE.09. Unlike the BE.07, Mahindra has not shared a clear launch timeline for this SUV. What is known is that the BE.09 will be a coupe-style electric SUV, also based on the INGLO platform. It is expected to be larger than the XEV 9E and will feature a sleek, sporty design. Positioned as a grand tourer, the BE.09 is likely to come with a bigger battery pack than the current 79 kWh unit, offering extended range for long journeys. Premium features are expected inside the cabin, aimed at delivering a more luxurious experience for occupants.

While the BE.07 has a confirmed debut in 2027, the BE.09 could arrive earlier or later, with speculation pointing to a launch either next year or closer to 2028. Together, these models represent Mahindra's next phase in the electric SUV space, expanding its lineup beyond the current three born-electric offerings.
