Honda Cars India is set to expand its lineup in the Indian market with the launch of new products. While the City Facelift has become the center of discussions, the Japanese automaker has announced a new sub-4m SUV. The vehicle is likely to launch in India in 2028. Once launched, the model will be placed below the Elevate in the Indian market and will be the first car of the Japanese automaker in the segment, since the WR-V.

Honda announced the new product during its recent global financial results presentation, where it detailed its long-term growth plans for the Indian market. The company confirmed that it is preparing to launch new strategic models in two high-potential segments, sub-four-metre vehicles and the mid-size category, both of which remain highly popular among Indian consumers.

The compact SUV segment is one of the highly contested segments in the Indian market. It consists of models like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Skoda Kylaq. These models offer a variety of powertrain options ranging from CNG to turbo-petrol, all at a competitive price. To establish itself in the category, the Japanese automaker will need to have a similar approach with its upcoming model, which is highly possible considering the model will be tailored for the Indian market.
