The 7-time Formula 1 World Champion, Lewis Hamilton, recently joined Ferrari's F1 team, ditching Mercedes AMG Petronas. While the Ferrari fans are quite happy to see Hamilton in red, few of the motorsport enthusiasts claim he was better with Petronas as a racer. Even the recent insights from Ferrari suggest that Hamilton is having a hard time in the Ferrari F1 team.
The 2025 British Grand Prix took place on the 6th July, and Lando Norris secured the pole position, pushing his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri to the second spot. Also, the race proved to be a memorable event as the Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber driver, Nico Hulkenberg, grabbed third place, which was his first-ever pole position out of 239 races in his F1 history.

However, Lewis Hamilton, who is now in Ferrari's F1 team, had a bad time as he reported the poor condition of the car during the practice session. Later, during the final race, Hamilton's car faced a serious technical glitch. The Scuderia Ferrari HP's team chief, Frederic Vasseur, accepted that the team lost the GPS of Lewis Hamilton's car mid-race. This proved to be a tough challenge for the team, as they went 'blind', losing the exact track and condition of their car. While the GPS is important to locate the racer's exact position on the track, it is also used for post-race data analytics for building race strategies.

This technical failure could also be credited as one of the reasons for Lewis Hamilton's unsatisfactory performance in the British Grand Prix. Hamilton initially started from fifth place and ended up finishing fourth in the race. However, the 7-time World Champion title winner impressed by securing the 4th spot, giving Hulkenberg a tough time holding his podium position.
