2026 Honda Africa Twin Unveiled Globally; Here's What's New

Honda has officially taken the wraps off the 2026 Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin range for global markets, bringing fresh updates to its popular adventure motorcycle. While the mechanical package remains unchanged, the new lineup introduces a refreshed colour and graphics palette that adds visual appeal across all variants. This update spans the standard Africa Twin, the Electronic Suspension version, and the Adventure Sports model, ensuring each variant gets a distinctive identity while retaining the proven performance that riders expect.  

For the standard Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin and the Africa Twin Electronic Suspension variant, Honda has introduced three striking new colour choices. Buyers can now opt for Grand Prix Red, Matt Ballistic Black Metallic, or Pearl Glare White, each designed to highlight the rugged yet premium character of the motorcycle. Meanwhile, the Adventure Sports version receives two exclusive paint schemes: Matt Iridium Gray Metallic and Pearl Glare White. The latter is particularly eye-catching, featuring the iconic HRC Tricolore livery paired with gold wheels, a combination that pays homage to Honda's racing heritage while enhancing the motorcycle's road presence.  

Underneath the updated styling, the 2026 Africa Twin continues with the same tried-and-tested mechanicals. Powering all variants is the familiar 1,084cc parallel-twin engine, delivering 102 hp at 7,500 rpm and 112 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. Riders also have the option of Honda's Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) across the range, offering smoother gear shifts and versatility for both on-road and off-road conditions. This consistency in performance ensures that the Africa Twin remains a reliable companion for long-distance touring and adventure riding.

The Africa Twin has a notable history in India, having been sold here previously. However, Honda quietly withdrew the model from the domestic market following the implementation of BS6 Phase 2 emission norms. With the unveiling of the 2026 range, the motorcycle is expected to make a comeback to Indian showrooms. Interestingly, media reports suggest that Honda may expand its offering this time by introducing not just the Adventure Sports variant, which was the sole option earlier, but also the standard Africa Twin. This move would give Indian buyers more choice and flexibility, catering to different riding preferences and budgets.
