He threw my child from moving train, says father of 4-yr-old
Mumbai: For the Jamdade family, a trip to the city went totally askew when their four-year-old daughter was thrown out of a moving train following a heated argument with another passenger.

The Jamdade family had come to the city from Kalyan on December 6 to pay homage to Dr Ambedkar at Chaitya Bhoomi, Shivaji Park.

The family decided to return home the next morning and caught the Mumbai-Bhusawal Express at 5.30 am from Dadar station.

According to Sameer Jamdade, the victim's father, they had boarded the Express as the local trains were crowded.

However, when they boarded the train, Sameer got into a verbal spat with another passenger identified as Chhotu Sharma (19), who was heading towards Bhusawal. Suddenly, Sharma allegedly picked up Sadhna Jamdade (4), ran towards the door, and threw her just before Vidyavihar station from the running train.

Sunil Jamdade, Sadhna's uncle, immediately pulled the chain and ran to the spot and picked her up. He rushed her to Rajawadi hospital but owing to non-availability of beds, she was shifted to Sion hospital.

"I was shocked when that passenger snatched my daughter from me and threw her out of the running train," said Sameer. "This passenger had a verbal spat with us, and suddenly he picked up my niece from my brother's lap, and threw her out of the train," added Sunil.

Meanwhile, Sharma, a resident of Kandivli, was beaten up by co-passengers and later handed over to the Government Railway Police when the train reached Kalyan station. Sharma was then taken to Rukmani Hospital in Kalyan and later taken to J J Hospital for a medical examination.

"We have arrested Sharma and charged him with attempt to murder," said Deputy Police Commissioner (GRP) Ashok Deshbhratar.

Commenting on the condition of the baby, Dr Sandhya Kamat, dean of Sion hospital, said, "The child has sustained a fracture in one of her arms and leg. Also she has suffered a head injury but is now stable and is being kept under observation."
