Chiranjeevi's brother Pawan Kalyan launches political party, vows to decimate Congress in Seemandhra
Hyderabad: Megastar Chiranjeevi's younger brother Pawan Kalyan has vowed to stop the Congress party that his brother represents from winning a single seat in Seemandhra, the region that he claims has been badly hurt by the decision of the party to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

Launching his new political party Jana Sena in true cinematic style, the actor, popularly called 'Power Star', addressed his fans and others for almost two hours. Thousands gathered at the venue in Hyderabad and across the state, arrangements had been made at multiple venues for fans to sit together and watch the launch of their star's newest venture.

Sparing virtually none of his political opponents and critics, Pawan Kalyan said he could support any party but the Congress. Indications are that he could support Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Talks are expected to take place over the next few days.

The new wannabe political leader clarified that he was not against Telangana but "the way they divided us made me angry, it disgusted me. So, I launched my party Jana Sena".

He also slammed Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter Kavita who had said Pawan Kalyan must first clarify his stand on Telangana. Kavita must first explain what she has done with the funds, contributions and accounts of the NGO she runs, he said.

Pawan Kalyan also said that he had campaigned for the Praja Rajyam Party, which Chiranjeevi founded, five years ago but had not imagined that he would take the plunge into politics. "Delhi is responsible for me wanting to give up even acting," he said.

He said it was emotionally difficult for him to take on his brother, who had been like a father figure to him. "We won't be angry with Anna (Chiranjeevi) for what someone in Delhi did; he is like a father to me but am having to stand up against him because of the Congress," said Pawan Kalyan.
