1. Karnala

Karnala is about 50 kilometres from Mumbai city and is home to one of the most scenic treks in the state. The meadow gets transformed into lush greenery and mesmerising streams that flow throughout the rainy season. There is a bird sanctuary in Karnala with varied species of birds which is a scenic sight during the rainy season.

2. Kamshet

Yet another weekend destination from Mumbai, Kamshet is at a distance of around 120 kilometres from Mumbai and is a very scenic location, especially during the monsoon season. There are many adventurous activities to indulge in, like trekking, hiking, and waterfalls. Kamshet is known for its paragliding centres but they remain closed during monsoon season.

3. Durshet

At around 85 kilometres from Mumbai, this little town of Durshet is blessed with picturesque landscapes, lovely surroundings and less crowd. You can go trekking into the lovely hills, enjoy watersports at the Amba River, and have a blissful gateway at Durshet.

4. Jawhar

Jawhar is located in the Thane district of Maharashtra and has many natural attractions from waterfalls, sunset points and streams to admire. You can even visit the famous Jai Vilas Palace and forts in the nearby locality. The Warli art of this region is very famous and a beautiful art form. You can buy artefacts with the art done on them. Some locals may even arrange workshops if you want to learn the art.

5. Malshej Ghat

The most popular known destination amongst bikers especially during the monsoon season, Malshej Ghat has plenty to offer when it comes to nature. There are numerous hiking trails to explore while admiring the lush greenery, flowing streams, and serene waterfalls. You can also visit Darkoba Peak, Ajoba Hill Fort, Jivdhan Chawand Fort and Harishchandragad while in Malshej.

Harihareshwar is famous for its gorgeous beaches, temples and peaceful atmosphere. The beaches in Harihareshwar are surrounded by hills and mountains making it a scenic destination during monsoons. You can enjoy the beach as well as the hills in the same place. When in Harihareshwar, do not forget to visit Ganesh Gully, Bhagamandala and the Harihareshwar beach.
