Lakme Fashion Week 2018: Sushmita Sen To Shahid And Mira Kapoor, Scene-Stealing Celeb Showstoppers

If there's one highlight Lakme Fashion Week is best known for, it is its celebrity quotient. Taking place in starry Mumbai, the event boasts of film industry attendees and packed front rows with the designer's celebrity friends. The main attraction from them all are the celebrity showstoppers. Known to open or close a runway show, celebrity showstoppers usually showcase the highlight of the collection and get all those cameras clicking. This summer resort 2018 at Lakme Fashion Week saw these 13 celebrity showstoppers make an appearance on the ramp.

1. Taapsee Pannu For Ritu Kumar

Looking stylish and full of spunk, Taapsee Pannu closed the show for Ritu Kumar. In a printed kaftan with a thigh high slit and lace bustier, Taapsee Pannu struck a fierce pose with black boots, a choker necklace and her hair worn in loose curls.

2. Shahid Kapoor And Mira Rajput For Anita Dongre

Making their first showstopper debut as a couple, lovebirds Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput ended Anita Dongre's fairyland show. The couple matched in white Indian wear and couldn't stop gazing at each other, elliciting many 'awws' from the audience.

3. Bhaichung Bhutia For #NorthEastMojo

As part of the collective North East Indian designer showcase, the country's most popular name in football, former Indian captain Bhaichung Bhutia walked for Sikkimese label Kuzu. The retired footballer cut a striking figure by sporting a mixed print co-ordinated suit in traditional weaves.

4. Kalki Koechlin For Amoh By Jade

Looking like a completely different person, Kalki Koechlin wore a monochrome look as the showstopper for the Amoh By Jade show. In a cream organza blouse and lehenga skirt, Kalki appeared in a thick fringe with large shiny curls and only a cuff bracelet to accessorize.

5. Sarah Todd For Ka:Sha

Showcasing Karishma Shahani's tie-dye and tassel rich collection was an unlikely candidate in Sarah Todd. The former Masterchef Australia contestant who now owns Goa's popular Antares restaurant was a former model in Sydney. For the Ka:Sha show, Sarah wore a flowing midi dress with a tasseled duster coat to open the show.

6. Sonakshi Sinha And Karan Johar For Falguni Shane Peacock

There was twice the style quotient for the Falguni Shane Peacock show as Bollywood heavyweights Karan Johar and Sonakshi Sinha made a runway appearance. While Sonakshi opened the show in an embroidered suit with a black bustier and clear aviators, Karan Johar closed it wearing a sequin tuxedo jacket with silver locks.

7. Kriti Sanon For Tarun Tahiliani

Looking nothing short of phenomenal, Kriti Sanon walked the runway for the Tarun Tahiliani show. In a pastel lehenga-choli with crystal floral work, Kriti wore her hair a sleek twisted-back hairstyle with a fresh rosy makeup look.

8. Sania Mirza For Anushree Reddy

Looking lovely in rose gold tones was Sania Mirza who stole the show at the Anushree Reddy show. While we thought Sania looked divine in her delicate makeup look, sparkling lehenga and side-swept locks, the fact that the athlete discreetly wore white sneakers under the skirt made us love her even more.

9. Saiyami Kher For Nishka Lulla

Saiyami may be a relative newcomer in Bollywood, but definitely not on the fashion scene. The fresh-faced beauty looked amazing in pop tones for designer Nishka Lulla. Along with a Caprese bag slung across, Saiyami sported a mirror work crop top with a hot pink skirt and her beautiful curls.

 

10. Aditi Rao Hydari For Payal Singhal

In an unsurprising turn of events, Aditi Rao Hydari looked like a dreamboat as a showstopper for designer Payal Singhal. In a glittering lehenga, jhumkas, burgundy lip and natural curls, every set of eyes was only watching the runway for those few minutes.

11. Sushmita Sen For Kotwara

It's safe to say that Sushmita Sen left everyone speechless when she walked the runway for Kotwara as a showstopper. Wearing an embroidered lehenga, heavy jewellery and dupatta draped over her head, Sushmita proved yet again that she was, and always will be our favourite Miss Universe.

 

12. Saif Ali Khan For Shantanu & Nikhil

With wife Kareena Kapoor being the face of Lakme, it was about time Saif Ali Khan walked at the Lakme Fashion Week. For Shantanu & Nikhil, Saif looked dapper in black assymetrical kurta suit with a metallic brooch.

Looks like Lakme Fashion Week really has had a star-studded season.
