The summer spring edition of Lakme Fashion Week is off to a glorious start. The venue is buzzing and clothes are breathtaking but if you look a little closer, you'll see there's a lot more going on. Yes, inch just a little bit closer to the collections that took the stage on day 1 and you'll find that the devil really is in the details. Not only do the clothes form spectacular looks, minor details about them have been painstakingly crafted to catch the eye and take the look up a few notches. Whether it's been with printed satchel bags or ruffled sleeves, it was evident that details are anything but a small feature on the first day of Lakme Fashion Week.
In the Gen Next showcase, asymmetrical hems with mismatched pockets on a background of printed and solid fabric featured widely across the collections. Now tell us that isn't eye catching enough for you.

During the fabulous celebration of inclusivity seen at the Half Full Curve show, embroidered left a mark and embellished the bust, while tassels and pleated peplum at the waistline only added to the drama.

What makes any cape better? Why the addition of ruffles, of course. As seen at Amrich, contrasting toned ruffles cascading down the hemline of a light duster coat breathes so much life into the look.

As if the mohawk braid didn't already have enough cool quotient, the Gen Next showcase saw the addition of pointed hair accessories to make it quite a hair-raising hairstyle, to say the least.

This season, bags are also getting handy as a simple pouch style wristlet made an appearance on the ramp. Cool as ever while being functional? Yes please.

Just when we thought the sea of abstract prints at the Gen Next show was a statement maker in itself, the designer went ahead and added in a handheld bag with the same abstract print. With bright toned platform brogues, you could be sure everyone was sitting up and taking notice.

Nothing says sporty cool quite like a backwards turned cap a la Chandler Bing. Throw in sequins and gold hoops and you've got an instant 90s throwback.

Didn't we tell you fanny packs were back? As seen at Ritu Kumar with a shiny patent leather finish, they're all set to lend your look a sporty luxe touch.

Looks like details really stole the show on the first day of Lakme Fashion Week
