If there is one celebrity who has the Midas touch with absolutely anything she does, it's Rihanna. Since her musical debut in the early 2000s (Remember the days of Umbrella and Pon de Replay?), RiRi has managed to push out tunes that we can't help but listen to on loop. On the side, she's also become an incredible entrepreneur. Her athleisure collection with Puma and massively popular Fenty Beauty are proof enough.
But that wasn't enough for Rihanna. Days ago, she released Savage X Fenty, her lingerie line. Many may have written it off as just another celebrity collection and the waiting time may have seemed endless but it wasn't long before the world couldn't stop talking about Rihanna's new lingerie collection.
Here's why.
Like Fenty Beauty's wide range of foundation shades, Rihanna applied the concept to the undergarment world. One of innerwear's biggest grouses is a bra and panty that's meant to match your skin tone but is unfortunately shades lighter than it needs to be. Savage's nude-specific category comes in shades like bare and honey to spiced and cocoa which cover most skin tones. You've got to love a diverse range of colour, whether it's in your foundation or your undergarments.
Savage also comprises of a wide range of around 90 garments at affordable price points. If the number wasn't astounding enough, the styles within it are each different from each other. They include various kinds of bras and undies as well as bodysuits, lingerie sets, rompers and sleep wear. Some of them, like the fur trimmed sheer robe are high on sex appeal while others, like the microfiber bra, are ideal for summer workdays.
What has really taken the cake and has been instrumental in Savage X Fenty's success is size inclusivity. Often, larger sized women are flummoxed when it comes to finding well-fitted lingerie that isn't exorbitant. That isn't the case with Rihanna's brand. They offer sizes from XS to 3X in bottomwear. For bras, the sizes start from 27 inches right up to 44, with the promise of more sizes to come in the future.
Enough reason to give it a look. Now, we can't wait to see what Queen Midas a.k.a Rihanna gets her hands on next.
