7 Things To Follow For A Healthy Work Life Balance

1. Make A Calendar

You need to make a family calendar of all the family members. Their work appointments, schedules and commitments need to be in one place and maintaining a diary of all the details will be handy and helpful. Every week you can go through the calendar to get an idea about the whereabouts of the family, so that your baby's schedule, doctor's appointments, can be sorted out.

2. Healthy Relationship With The Caregiver

The caregiver can be anyone, a full-time house help, a nanny or simply the baby's grandparents. The caregivers spend the most of the time with the little ones and therefore you need to have a relationship of trust and honesty with them. In case you are hiring a full-time help or nanny, make sure to check the background and recommendations of the hired. Also communicate your expectations from them as elaborately as possible.

3. Stick To A Routine

Fix your day and night time routine as much as possible. Babies love to have a routine too. So, keep it as organised as possible so that you do not miss out on the important commitments.

4. Get Support At Work

Make sure to have an honest relationship with your employer. Be clear of your health, illness if any, leave policies, etc.to avoid a stressful work environment. Let your team know about any doctor's appointments in advance to avoid any last-minute problems. Keeping transparency at work will only help you keep the load off your head.

5. Have A Backup Sitter

Having a full-time house help or nanny is still not enough. There may be times when you are overburdened with work, all the other family members are busy and your nanny decides to take an off. Have a backup sitter for such times to avoid any fiasco.

6. Plan All The Meals In Advance

Planning a breakfast, lunch and dinner and giving the details to your home chef is definitely a task any working person would relate to. So instead of wasting a part of your day on deciding on what to eat the next day, prepare a weekly meal plan instead and stick by it.

7. Selfcare

We know that finding time for yourself to do your favourite activity will not be on your agenda. But we cannot emphasize on how important finding that time really is. Choose any activity which will sooth and refresh your mind and try to practice it at least 3 to 4 times a week. Attend a pottery class or an art session if that makes you happy.
