We want a debate on FDI in Parliament, says Left: Highlights

New Delhi: Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Left's Sitaram Yechury and D Raja said that they  want a vote on FDI in Parliament. Here are the highlights:

Sitaram Yechury:

• We want winter session to function
• Left wants vote on FDI in Parliament
• Want the government to understand reality
• All the principal states from which the Congress has a large number of seats are in crisis
• To cut their losses, they may go in for early elections
• But none of us are forcing early elections
• No matter when the elections happen, we will perform better in Bengal

• On 2G scam: For 122 licences, the government of India earned little over Rs 9000 crore. For 22 circles auctioned the government has already earned more
• The government and corporates both have vested interest in keeping prices are low - this has been an act of connivance
• The government, it suits them well, to say see there has been no corruption
