Security force camp catches fire after Sonia leaves helipad
Salar, West Bengal: A security force camp at the helipad in Salar caught fire from a candle minutes after Congress president Sonia Gandhi's helicopter took off for Santipur in the Nadia district today.

The fire originated from a candle used for sending smoke signals to helicopters from the ground, Additional Superintendent of Police of Murshidabad D N Goswami said.

The incident occurred minutes after the UPA chairperson, now on her second leg election campaign in West Bengal, left for Santipur, he said.

The police immediately snuffed out the fire. Nobody was injured, but the camp was partially gutted.
