Puducherry Assembly Election Results 2026 LIVE Updates: Counting of votes commenced at 8:00 am on Monday in all six designated counting centres in Puducherry, officials said.

The vote-counting exercise commenced at 8:00 am with the postal ballots, and at 8:30 am, counting of votes recorded in EVMs will be taken up, they said.

Elections to 30 Assembly segments were held in the state on April 9.

The incumbent AINRC regime has put up a big fight to retain power. Opposition INDIA bloc comprising parties, including Congress and DMK, despite friction among them, has shown determination to unseat CM N Rangasamy-led NR Congress government.

Puducherry Chief Minister and All India NR Congress leader N Rangasamy on Monday won the Thattanchavady assembly constituency, securing victory by a margin of 4,441 votes following the counting of votes in the union territory (UT).

AINRC won six seats and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won one, as per the EC.

Rangasamy got a total of 10024 votes and secured victory, while his nearest competitor, E Vinayagam of Neyam Makkal Kazhagam, managed 5,583 votes amid the state assembly election, which concluded on April 9.

Independent candidate K Sethu (Sethuselvam) received 3,984 votes, finishing 6,040 votes short of the winner.

Puducherry Election Results LIVE: NDA Tightens Grip On Puducherry, Namassivayam Register Key Wins

The NDA alliance strengthened its position in the Puducherry Assembly election results on Monday, with key victories and early trends indicating a clear edge over the Congress-led front.

In a significant result, BJP candidate A. Namassivayam secured a decisive victory from the Mannadipet Assembly constituency, defeating his Congress rival TPR Selvame by a margin of 6,110 votes. The win marks a notable improvement for the BJP leader, who had won the seat by a much narrower margin of 2,750 votes in the 2021 elections.

The expanded margin this time reflects stronger consolidation of support in favour of the BJP in the constituency.

Puducherry Election Results LIVE: NDA Ahead On 11 Seats, Rangasamy Leads By Over 4,000 Votes

Chief Minister N Rangasamy is leading from the Thattanchavady assembly seat by a margin of more than 4336 votes as per the Election Commission (ECI) trends.

Puducherry is expected to witness the return of a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by N Rangaswamy, as early leads from the Election Commission showed the alliance leading on 11 seats in the 30-member Legislative Assembly.

As per the poll body's latest data, the All India NR Congress (AINRC) is leading on 9 seats, while its NDA ally, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is ahead on 2 seats. The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is leading in 1 seat.

On the other hand, Congress and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) are leading on 1 seat.

Puducherry Election Results LIVE: Chief Minister N Rangasamy Leads In Thattanchavady By Over 3,500 Votes

Chief Minister N Rangasamy heading the AINRC in the Union Territory and his party candidates were leading in at least seven Assembly constituencies as votes polled in the April 9 elections were being counted.

According to the Election Commission, Rangasamy, who is contesting from two constituencies in the UT, was ahead in Thattanchavady by a margin of 3,591 votes.

AINRC candidates R Ravikumar, Vaiyapuri Manikandan, C Aiyappan, E Mohandoss, P Rajavelu, and P R N Thirumurugan were ahead in Villianur, Muthialpet, Ariankuppam, Enbalam, Nettapakkam, and Karaikal North, Election Commission data revealed.

BJP candidates A Namassivayam and TK SM Meenatchisundaram were ahead in Mannadipet and Neravy TR Pattinam constituencies.
