Bank manager booked in suicide of Punjab minister's secretary

Ambala: Police have registered acase against a bank manager in connection with the alleged suicide by theprivate secretary of Punjab Agriculture Minister Sucha Singh Langah.

 

However, the name of the ministerwas not mentioned in the FIR.

 

Harbans Lal had gone missing fromhis house in the district on July 2. His bicycle and shoes were recovered fromthe bank of a canal and a purported suicide note was also recovered from hishouse in which he had alleged that he was committing suicide as the bankmanager was harassing him at the behest of minister.

 

The minister was not available forcomments.

 

Lal's body was recovered from thecanal at village Pundri in Kurukshetra district in Haryana. The police took hisbody to Rohtak PGI where a post mortem was done.

 

A large number of villagers ofNaggal area on Friday blocked the Ambala-Hisar road near village Matherikeeping Lal's body on the road alleging that he had committed suicide due tothe pressures of the minister.

 

The villagers staged the protestblockade demanding the registration of a case against the minister.

 

Superintendent of Police Ambala,Shashank Anand reached at the site and assured the villagers that action wouldbe taken against the guilty persons.

 

Thevillagers lifted the blockade after the assurance of the SP and the policerecorded a fresh statement of the brother of the deceased.
