13 Incidents Of Technical Snags In Air India Planes In Last 3 Months: Government

Air India received a total of 394 complaints of flight delays from its passenger in January this year.

New Delhi: There have been 12 instances of technical fault being reported during take off or landing and a case of tyre burst by Air India planes in the last three months, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma told the Lok Sabha today.

The minister said such incidents are investigated by the Permanent Investigation Board of the airline in association with officials of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. In response to another question, Mr Sharma said Air India had received a total of 394 complaints of flight delays from its passenger in January this year.

The total number of complaints on this count rose to 3,507 last year as compared to 1,943 in 2014, Mr Sharma said.

Air India had received a total of 829 complaints from its passengers for the flight delays in 2013, the minister said, adding that the national carrier has a well-defined compliant-handling procedure where all complaints are received whether pertaining to delays or any other issue.
