Student of The Year on Tuesday and it coincides with the birthday of director David Dhawan, whose son Varun is making his debut with the movie.

Alia Bhatt, daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan, is also making her debut with the film.
However, Mahesh Bhatt confirmed his absence from his daughter's shooting.
"No I won't be there. This is the journey of the alone to the unknown. I will buy a ticket and watch her maiden performance on a single-screen cinema hall when the movie releases. Now that is a moment to look forward to, isn't it?
"This is the stuff that dream launches are made of. Mother Nature has given Alia the looks and the thirst to be a star and Karan has given her a dream launch. What more can she ask for? Now it is up to her to use the opportunity to the optimum," said Bhatt.
The film went on floors with an elaborate campus song choreographed by Farah Khan.
Though Farah refused to comment on the song, the buzz is that the three debutantes Varun, Alia and Siddharth Malhotra would be doing a high school party gig, a la Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji
