Actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, co-stars of
The Revenant, posed together at the Oscars red carpet, which was followed by cheers and hoots by the crowd.
The Academy shared the moment in an Instagram post:
Leonardo is the favourite for Best Actor for his role in the Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu-directed film. A report in news agency AFP says: "Jaws will drop if best actor doesn't go to Leonardo DiCaprio for

He is competing with actors Bryan Cranston (
Trumbo), Matt Damon (
The Martian), Michael Fassbender (
Steve Jobs) and Eddie Redmayne (
The Danish Girl) for the top honours.
Tom is also nominated in the Best Supporting Actor Category.
The Revenant is the overall frontrunner with 12 nominations.
The 88th Academy Awards takes place at the Hollywood & Highland Center in California on the evening of February 28, which is early morning on February 29 for India.
