Highlights

  • The controversy surrounding the whole Anita Advani-Rajesh Khanna relationship has literally taken a 'realty' twist. An RTI request by Dimple Kapadia's family had revealed that Anita Advani who has filed a domestic violence case against Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle, Rinkie and Akshay Kumar was 'married' to one Rodricks Victor Anthony. The two were also allotted a Slum Rehabilitation Authority flat in Kitkat society, off Pali Hill in Bandra. MiD DAY spoke to neighbours of the man Anita Advani was supposedly married to as per the SRA allotment documents.

  • Anthony Rodrigues, a former neighbour, who now stays down the road at KGN Society, said, "Rodricks used to stay near our house in Kitkatwadi, but died many years ago. He used to work for Air India as a liftman. He has a widow, who is mentally handicapped and stays in Mangalore." According to Rodrigues' daughter Carol, Rodricks died almost 10 to 15 years ago.

  • "We never saw or heard of any Anita Advani in our area," added Rodrigues. "Even today, there are many disputes still in court regarding Kitkat society." Backing that claim, a notice outside Kitkat society states that the matter is posted for hearing in the Bombay High Court. Details in the allotment schedule list 'Rodricks Victor Anthony' as the head of the family. Under the heading of 'Spouse Name/Second Name' is 'Anita F Rodricks', accompanied by a picture of Anita Advani.

  • Allotment letter

  • An allotment letter dated August 1, 2004, addressed to 'Anita Rodricks' states that "You are eligible for a free tenement admeasuring 225 square feet carpet area in the Slum Rehabilitation Scheme at the same site." The letter goes on to state that 'Anita Rodricks' is allotted, by lottery, a tenement on the new building's first floor. The letter is signed by Steven G Fernandez, the developer, Anthony Arikswamy, the chief promoter, Adolf Tragler, secretary, Slum Rehabilitation Society, and Anita herself. When contacted, Steven Fernandez said, "The matter is sub-judice. I will answer in court if necessary. Despite repeated attempts, Advani remained unavailable for comment.
