BTS 2.0 Music Video Out, Takes Inspiration From Park Chan-Wook's Oldboy

After a four-year hiatus, BTS is back in full swing, steadily rolling out new content for fans. 

What's Happening

• The group recently released a fresh music video for 2.0, a track from their latest album ARIRANG, just two weeks after dropping another visual from the same project.
• The new video draws clear inspiration from Park Chan-wook's 2003 film Oldboy. 
• It opens with the seven members RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook stepping out of an elevator into a dimly lit corridor, dressed in sharp suits and leather jackets. 
• They are confronted by a group of men in the hallway, echoing the gritty tone of the film. 
• Instead of engaging in physical combat, however, the group uses choreography and music as their response, turning the moment into a stylised dance sequence.
• The visual then shifts to another dark hallway, where the group continues their performance without interruption. 
• The setting later changes to a worn-down bathroom, with the members dancing in front of mirrors as the chorus plays out. 
• Toward the end, the video returns to the elevator, where the members switch into updated, modern outfits, tying into the lyric, "We on that brand new," before closing in a sleek high-rise setting.
• The video follows closely behind a teaser released on March 31. 
• The 30-second preview had already hinted at the concept, showing an elevator stopping at different floors, with tense scenes unfolding in a shadowy corridor before the group's dramatic entrance.

Background

2.0 is one of the B-sides from ARIRANG, which has been performing strongly on global charts. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while its lead single SWIM topped the Billboard Hot 100. 

The track itself is produced by Mike WiLL Made-It and Pluss, with writing credits going to RM, J-Hope, V, Jungkook and SUGA.
