The Indian automotive market witnessed a number of crucial launches in 2025. The year saw manufacturers introducing all-new models and reviving familiar nameplates. The vehicles covered everything from advanced electric vehicles to upgraded ICE models. Mahindra XEV9e

Mahindra marked its presence in the premium electric SUV segment with the XEV9e, based on its INGLO platform. The Indian automaker packed the vehicle with features and launched it for Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom). With a focus on design, performance, and range, the XEV9e came with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs offering a max range of MIDC range of over 600 km on a single charge.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris

Maruti Suzuki introduced the Victoris to be sold via Arena outlets, expanding its presence in higher segments. Developed on a new architecture, the Victoris featured a more refined interior and updated powertrains. For India's largest carmaker, the launch represented an effort to strengthen its hold beyond the compact SUV segment while tapping into rising demand for premium models. It came at a starting price of Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and offered multiple powertrain options, including CNG and PHEV.

MG Cyberster

MG Motor India added freshness to the market with the Cyberster by introducing a two-door electric roadster. The model served as a halo product for MG, showcasing its electric vehicle technology and design capabilities. While niche in appeal, the Cyberster underlined MG's intent to diversify its EV portfolio. It is currently sold at a starting price of Rs 74.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai Venue (Facelift)

Hyundai updated the Venue for 2025 with major exterior revisions and a feature upgrade. The compact SUV gained improvements in connected technology, safety equipment, size, and material quality. Launched at a competitive price of Rs 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom), making it an attractive offering for Indian consumers.

Tata Sierra

Tata Motors revived the Sierra nameplate with a production-ready SUV that balanced heritage-inspired styling with modern features. Available internal combustion powertrains, the Sierra highlighted brought a new turbo petrol engine into practical use, expanding the brand's horizons not just for itself but also for Harrier and Safari. While the initial response has been decent, the impact of the model on the market remains to be seen.
