Yamaha has launched the 70th Anniversary editions of the Yamaha R15 and Yamaha R3 in the Brazilian market to celebrate the company's long racing history. These limited-run motorcycles receive cosmetic upgrades inspired by Yamaha's iconic race bikes from the 1960s and 1970s. While the mechanical setup remains unchanged, the updated styling gives both motorcycles a unique retro appeal.
The Yamaha R15 70th Anniversary Edition and Yamaha R3 70th Anniversary Edition are being offered in limited numbers. Yamaha will produce only 1,200 units of the R15 anniversary model and 600 units of the R3 anniversary version for Brazil.
Yamaha R15, R3 70th Anniversary Edition: Design
The biggest highlight of the Yamaha R15 and Yamaha R3 70th Anniversary Editions is the new dual-tone white and red paint scheme. This colour combination is inspired by Yamaha's earlier factory racing motorcycles that competed in Grand Prix championships decades ago. However, before Yamaha adopted the now-famous blue racing colour, it used white and red graphics on its race machines.

Both the Yamaha R15 and Yamaha R3 also feature the iconic 'Speed Block' graphics. These graphics were first seen on Yamaha race bikes during the 1970s and are designed to create a sense of motion and speed even when the motorcycle is stationary.
The red detailing can be seen on the fuel tank, fairing and windscreen area. Yamaha has also added a special 70th Anniversary badge on the fuel tank to distinguish these editions from the standard models.
Yamaha R15, R3 70th Anniversary Edition: Features Remain Unchanged
Apart from the cosmetic updates, the Yamaha R15 and Yamaha R3 continue with the same equipment and design elements as the regular versions. Both motorcycles get a sporty full-faired design, aggressive riding posture, split seats and upswept exhaust setup.
