Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor appears to have a preference for Mercedes-Benz cars. He is known to own several models, including the Maybach GLS and Maybach S-Class. Expanding his collection, he has now bought a Mercedes-Benz G-Class, commonly known as the G-Wagen. Specifically, the actor has bought the 450d, which was launched in India in 2025 and is worth over Rs 2.9 crore (ex-showroom). The development comes following the recent release of his latest movie O'Romeo.
Before diving into the details, it is worth mentioning that the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a popular SUV among celebrities. The iconic SUV, with its butch looks, off-road capabilities, and legendary name, stands amongst models like the Land Rover Defender. Probably because of this, it finds space in the garages of celebs like Khushi Kapoor, Hardik Pandya, Rohit Shetty, Parmish Verma and others. Some popular social media influencers are also owners of the electric powertrain version of the SUV.

Based on the visuals shared on Instagram, Shahid Kapoor seems to have chosen the Classic Grey paint of the SUV. Besides Grey, the SUV also gets options of Rubellite Red, Deep Green, Dark Blue, Opalite White Bright, and Obsidian Black. It also gets horizontal slats on the grille and 20-inch AMG alloy wheels, complementing its dominating road presence.
Shahid Kapoor's G 450d is equipped with a 3.0-litre straight-six turbocharged diesel engine that produces 362 bhp and 750 Nm of maximum torque. This new G 450d takes the place of the previous G 400d in the lineup. The engine is combined with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that provides an additional boost of 20 bhp when needed during low-end acceleration. Power is transmitted to all four wheels through a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The G 450d accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 210 km/h. The off-road capabilities we mentioned earlier are backed by a ground clearance of 241 mm and a water wading depth of 700 mm. This off-roader boasts an approach angle of 31 degrees, a breakover angle of 26 degrees, and a departure angle of 30 degrees.
