Royal Enfield is preparing for a major expansion phase in FY27, planning to invest around Rs 2,200 crore in capacity growth, new product development, and electric vehicle programmes. According to reports, the investment will also support the brand's expansion plans in Tada, Andhra Pradesh, while Tamil Nadu will continue to remain the core manufacturing base for the company.

According to reports, the Rs 2,200 crore capex plan was confirmed by B Govindarajan, Managing Director, Eicher Motors Ltd, and Chief Executive Officer Royal Enfield, during a recent media interaction. Out of the total investment, nearly Rs 1,000 crore is expected to be utilised for capacity expansion, while the remaining amount will go towards developing new motorcycles and strengthening the company's EV portfolio.

The latest investment comes at a time when Royal Enfield continues to witness strong demand in both domestic and international markets. According to reports, the company sold more than 11 lakh motorcycles in FY26, marking the second consecutive year in which the brand crossed the one million annual sales milestone. In April 2026 alone, the motorcycle maker reportedly registered sales of over one lakh units with strong year-on-year growth.

As part of its expansion strategy, Royal Enfield is also moving ahead with its Tada manufacturing plans in Andhra Pradesh. According to reports, the company wants to reduce concentration risks by expanding operations beyond Tamil Nadu while still benefiting from its strong supplier ecosystem in the state. The proposed Tada facility is expected to support the company's long-term production growth plans.

Apart from expanding manufacturing capacity, the company is also focusing heavily on electric mobility through its Flying Flea sub-brand. According to reports, the upcoming Flying Flea electric motorcycles will target premium urban mobility buyers instead of purely focusing on cost-effective commuting. The first product under the brand, the Flying Flea C6, has already been showcased, while another scrambler-styled model is also expected in the future.
