Mercedes-Benz has globally unveiled the facelifted EQS, bringing major updates to its flagship electric sedan. The refreshed luxury EV now comes with a claimed WLTP range of up to 926 km, making it one of the longest-range electric cars currently available. Apart from the improved range, the updated model also gets a new 800V charging architecture, revised battery options, updated styling, and more advanced cabin technology.

Mercedes-Benz EQS Facelift: Powertrain

With the update, the Mercedes-Benz EQS facelift has got a new 800V tech, that enhances its battery efficiency, and range. While the range and the platform were never a concern for the EQS, the 400V tech was already outdated when compared to its rivals like Tesla Model S, and others in the global market. With the facelift the Mercedes-Benz EQS now offers up to 926 km range, making it one of the longest range sedans.

Another key upgrade is the two-speed gearbox on the rear axle, which improves both low-speed acceleration and high-speed efficiency. Regenerative braking has also been increased to 385 kW, helping recover more energy during braking and improving real-world driving efficiency.

Mercedes-Benz EQS Facelift: Exterior And Design

Addressing the previous EQS's "non-Mercedes" like appeal, the Mercedes-Benz EQS facelift finally looks far more in sync with the brand's latest design direction. The revised front fascia, highlighted by a larger faux grille and a cleaner reworked bonnet, gives it stronger road presence, while the updated DRLs with integrated Mercedes star add a sharper premium touch. More importantly, the upgraded Digital Light setup not only improves illumination noticeably but also feels like a meaningful upgrade with its 50 percent lower power consumption.

Mercedes-Benz EQS Facelift: Interior And Features

Inside, the EQS facelift retains the massive MBUX Hyperscreen, which integrates three displays under one glass panel. It now runs on the brand's latest MB.OS software, offering faster responses, OTA updates, and smarter AI-backed voice support. Feature highlights of the Mercedes-Benz EQS Facelift include rear 13.1-inch entertainment screens, heated front seatbelts, upgraded parking assist, cloud-based predictive air suspension, and more.

Further, the Mercedes-Benz EQS facelift now gets an optional steer-by-wire system, and in simple terms, it makes the EQS feel far easier and more modern to drive. Instead of a conventional round steering wheel, it uses a yoke-style setup, and because the steering is electronically controlled, you don't need to turn it as much while taking corners, parking, or making U-turns. This means smaller hand movements result in quicker direction changes, which might result in sharper turns while keeping a natural feel.

Another big advantage is the improved rear-wheel steering. Because of the steer-by-wire setup, the rear wheels can now turn up to 10 degrees instead of 4.5 degrees, which will significantly improve maneuverability. Even if buyers skip the steer-by-wire option, Mercedes still offers the 10-degree rear steering upgrade separately, just like before.
