Kia recently launched the Carens Clavis in India at a starting price of Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand is gearing up for the launch of the electrified iteration of the MPV, called the Kia Carens Clavis EV. Also, the brand introduced an EV charging ecosystem to address common concerns associated with EV ownership.

Kia India has developed the K-Charge platform, seamlessly integrated within the MyKia app, offering access to a fast-growing network of over 11,000 charging points across India in collaboration with 18 leading Charge Point Operators (CPOs). This spans both urban and highway routes, supporting daily commutes and long-distance travel alike.

Talking about the details, the brand has not yet announced the detailed specs. However, the Kia Carens Clavis EV will feature a 51.4 kWh battery pack capable of delivering a range of up to 490 km. This battery pack has also been employed on the Hyundai Creta Electric, making it reasonable for Kia to provide a smaller 42 kWh battery similar to that of the Hyundai EV.
Meanwhile, the electric version of the Kia Carens Clavis retains most of the design and exterior elements from the ICE sibling. However, it features a bunch of EV-specific elements like a closed-off grille, a charging flat, which is a part of the nose with a slim upper air inlet above the nameplate, and more.

Also, the interior of the Clavis resembles details from the Carens Clavis (ICE). However, the center console has been redesigned. Also, in the place where the ICE version has a gear lever, the EV version seems to have a storage bin. On the side of tech, there is a dual-screen layout similar to the ICE version. While the full details of the interior are still under wraps, the Carens Clavis EV will get dual-zone climate control, a wireless charger, a two-spoke steering wheel, Level 2 ADAS, a full LED lighting package, and more.
