Honda two-wheelers launched the Activa e at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 at a starting price of Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom). Though the electric two-wheeler market in India is growing, there is still a lack of infrastructure in the country. The Honda Activa e gets a charging facility via the battery swapping system. However, Honda is now working on making EV charging hassle-free.

According to the reports, Honda is liley to introduce a charging dock for the Activa e in India. The charging dock enables users to charge the electric scooter at home. While the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer offers the system in other countries like Europe, it is expected that the same facility will soon be available in India.

With a bunch of electric two-wheeler options available in India, users are now not just focusing on the range and other specs but also considering key factors like charging and service cost. The Honda CUV sold in the European market is quite identical to the Activa e available in India. However, the CUV:e gets a 270W dock charger that takes about six hours to top up the battery. Meanwhile, the Honda Activa e relies on the battery swapping facility to get going.

While the brand has previously vocalised its facilities and said that home charging is quite risky in the Indian market. While the brand believes that the battery swapping facility is comparatively safer. However, the eruption of the home charging facility for the Activa e is quite painful for the daily commuters due to the limited battery swapping stations. Considering the same, Honda is now expected to bring the charging dock technology to the Indian market.
