BMW India has introduced the updated iX1 Long Wheelbase for the Indian market. It comes with a change in aesthetics in the form of new exterior colour and upholstery options. With these changes in place, the brand aims to aid the sales of its top-selling premium electric vehicle.
Specifically, the latest BMW iX1 LWB now comes with a new Night Dusk Blue metallic paint joining the existing colours: Carbon Black, Mineral White, and Skyscraper Grey. This brings the total to four exterior options, improving the palette choices for potential consumers.

Inside, two new upholstery options are available using Veganza, a vegan leather sourced sustainably. These are Smoke White, Atlas Grey Dual Tone, and Castanea. To make things better, a 3D stitching pattern appears on the upholstery. Extending what the brand calls the "Cocooning Effect" to the upholstery, the same colour is available on the door panels, dashboard, and speaker mesh for a consistent interior.

The BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase measures 4,616 mm in length with a 2,800 mm wheelbase, making it the longest five-seater SUV in its segment in India. It uses fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology with a 204 hp output and 250 Nm torque. The 66.4 kWh battery delivers up to 531 km range (MIDC). Adaptive recuperation and one-pedal driving improve efficiency by recovering energy.
Using a typical 11kW AC charger, the BMW's battery can be fully charged from 0 to 100 percent in 6.3 hours, whereas a 130kW DC fast charger can charge it from 10 to 80 percent in only 29 minutes.
BMW India reports the iX1 Long Wheelbase has become the highest-selling electric vehicle in the premium segment, less than a year after launch. Prior updates included a Surround View Camera. The company adapts the model to market needs to maintain its position in the luxury EV category.

Apart from that, the feature list of the iX1 includes dual-zone climate control, front seats that offer massage functions, a Harman Kardon audio system with 12 speakers, 6 different ambient lighting settings, and a panoramic sunroof. The SUV is also equipped with adaptive LED headlights, an automatic tailgate, and parking assistance.
The iX1 includes similar safety features to the internal combustion engine SUV, such as ABS, ESP, traction control, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Because it is an electric vehicle with no engine noise, it is equipped with a feature that generates artificial sounds to warn pedestrians, which operates at speeds up to 30 kmph.
