KCR doing better, agrees to take IV fluids
NDTV Correspondent, Wednesday December 9, 2009, Hyderabad

TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao is on fast over the demand for a separate Telangana state. He has been fasting now for over 10 days and his health has deteriorated.

Here is an update on his condition as described by doctors at NIMS, Hyderabad, where he is admitted:

Wednesday evening (11th day of fast):

KCR is doing better as he agreed to take IV fluids on Wednesday afternoon, but doctors are concerned about a fungal infection.

Earlier in the day, KCR showed signs of protein malnutrition in the form of decreased protein in the blood. He has become weaker, his weight has reduced further, leading to protein loss. His protein and fat reserves are getting depleted, doctors said.

Doctors had informed of an urgent need for insertion of central intravenous lines for administration of fluids and medicines.

KCR had refused IV fluids, antibiotic tests and also blood tests. Morning tests could not be taken. Doctors have said he has to resume oral fluids immediately failing which his condition would deteriorate further. This has been communicated to KCR and his family members.

Nice way to get your job done KCR! Lesson to other parties: "If you cant win in a election in a fair way, be a cry baby, go on a fast, bring the state to the brink of voilence till the center gives in."

This is simply absurd. Dividing the Country further down. Obviously the politicians want sub-division, as this would further their goals. New state, New Constituencies, New opportunities. I can represent myself in one state while my son can contest for another state, better still from another party which would help in diversification and assure stability for my family. Its no big deal. The only looser is the country's citizen, who have to invest in another state, so that the netas can have fun.
