Israel Iran Conflict News Live: Iran struck the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia's capital with a drone early Tuesday as it kept hitting targets around the region, while the United States and Israel pounded Iran with airstrikes in what US President Donald Trump suggested was just the start of a relentless campaign that could last more than a month.

The attack from two drones on the US Embassy in Riyadh caused a "limited fire" and minor damage, according to Saudi Arabia's Defense Ministry, and the embassy urged Americans to avoid the compound. It followed an attack on the US Embassy in Kuwait, which announced Tuesday it had been closed until further notice.

Meanwhile, Indian authorities have shifted most Indian students out of Tehran after a sharp rise in security risks in the city, the Embassy of India said in a fresh advisory.

While transportation, food and accommodation have been arranged for those relocated to safer areas, the Embassy urged all remaining students and Indian nationals in Iran to stay indoors, exercise caution and remain in close contact with mission officials.

Here Are The Israel Iran Conflict Live Updates:

Rs 1,88,70,00,00,00,000: The Projected Cost Of Trump's Attack On Iran

The first 24 hours of the strikes on Iran alone have seen the US spend $779 million, or nearly Rs 6,900 crore, according to reports. And US President Donald Trump has declared that the war will last approximately a month, if not more.

Data from the Center for New American Security states carrier strike groups (like the USS Gerald R Ford, the world's largest aircraft carrier) cost around $6.5 million, or Rs 58 crore, a day to operate.

Taken together, the estimated cost of the pre-strike military build-up - including repositioning aircraft, deploying naval vessels and mobilising regional assets - would be in the vicinity of $630 million (Rs 5,556 crore).

If the war drags on, like Trump has indicated it will, the US will end up spending a staggering $210 billion (Rs 18.87 lakh crore), according to Kent Smetters, director of the Penn Wharton Budget Model and one of the nation's foremost fiscal analysts.

If Iran's Nuclear Talks Collapse During A War: What Happens Next (And What Doesn't)

As fighting intensifies in the Middle East, the future of nuclear diplomacy with Iran is increasingly uncertain. The most immediate concern is transparency. In its latest assessment, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) warned it cannot fully verify Iran's nuclear activities after monitoring systems were disrupted and access to some facilities became uncertain. At the same time, the agency confirmed that entrance structures at the underground enrichment complex in Natanz Nuclear Facility were damaged in recent military strikes, complicating inspections further.

Together, those developments highlight a key reality: when nuclear talks collapse during a war, oversight weakens before anything else.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed the drone strike in Dubai and said all staff were safe.

"A drone unfortunately struck a parking lot adjacent to the chancellery building and then set off a fire in that place. All personnel are accounted for," he told reporters in Washington.

Israel-US War On Iran Live | Iran's Strikes On Gulf States May Widen War Against Tehran, Analysts Say

Iranian airstrikes on Gulf states could push them into a broad coalition aligned with the United States and widen the war against Iran, Middle East analysts said, after attacks on ports, cities and oil facilities in a vital energy-producing region.

By striking at the Gulf's economic lifelines in its response to US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, Tehran may be driving wary Gulf states closer to Washington and towards coordinated action against the Islamic Republic, the analysts said.

The aim of the strikes against six Gulf states, all of which are US allies and host American military bases, was to ensure those countries put pressure on US President Donald Trump to halt the war, but Iran appears to have miscalculated, they said.

Israel sent additional troops into southern Lebanon Tuesday and ordered residents of more than 80 villages to evacuate as the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group said it is ready for an open war, escalating the already volatile situation in the region.

Israel retaliated with a wave of airstrikes that killed 52 people in Lebanon, including a Palestinian militant and a Hezbollah intelligence official in Beirut's southern suburbs. More than 150 people were wounded and tens of thousands displaced.

Hezbollah said Tuesday morning it fired two salvos of rockets toward northern Israel while Israeli airstrikes overnight damaged a building housing Hezbollah's TV and radio stations. The conflict marked the opening of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) telecoms trade fair on Monday morning in Barcelona, with would-be attendees blocked from travel and experts anticipating the fallout.

Until this weekend, the Middle East "was investing heavily and making sure they drove the interest from key players" in siting tech infrastructure there, said Francisco Jeronimo, a specialist covering the Middle Eastern and European markets for data firm IDC.

Now the war "will raise red flags for many vendors, because (the situation) becomes very unstable", he added.

Israel-US War On Iran Live | Iran Strikes The US Embassy In Saudi Arabia As War Expands Yet Again

Iran expanded its targets Tuesday, striking the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia as Washington began to pull many staff out of the Middle East. The US and Israel battered Iran with airstrikes in what President Donald Trump suggested was just the start of a war that has severely disrupted the world's supply of oil and gas, international shipping, and air travel.

The conflict escalated further on its fourth day, with Israel sending new ground troops into Lebanon and explosions ringing out in Iran's capital. Hundreds of people have been killed, the vast majority in Iran.

The spiraling nature of the war raised questions about when and how it would end. Trump said it could last four to five weeks - but that the US was prepared to go longer. He seemed to leave open the possibility for more extensive US military involvement, telling the New York Post on Monday that he was not ruling out the possibility of boots on the ground.

Israel-US War On Iran Live | Netanyahu Takes A Gamble On American Support For Israel With The War Against Iran

Throughout his political career, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has steered his country along two pillars of foreign policy: an ironclad partnership with the United States and a relentless diplomatic and covert battle against the rulers of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Now, with Israel and the US in a joint war against Iran's leadership, those two strategic paths risk clashing with each other. By enlisting the US in what he views as Israel's existential battle against Iran, Netanyahu is taking a gamble that could open up the relationship to the strain of a war with far-reaching consequences.

To be sure, persuading US President Donald Trump to join the war was a coup for Netanyahu and highlights the strong ties between the two leaders. If they are successful, they could quickly realize their shared goal of toppling the Iranian government and spare the region a protracted conflict.

But if the war drags on, the two allies' ties could again be tested.

Israel Iran Conflict Live | Trump Says Iran War Could Last Weeks As Netanyahu Defends Decision To Attack

As the war in the Middle East intensifies, US President Donald Trump said that the US has "the capability to go far longer" than its projected four-to-five-week time frame for its military operations against Iran.

Across Tehran, the sound of explosions rang out through the night and into the early morning hours Tuesday, as the US and Israel have continued to pound Iran since killing its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday.

Tehran and its allies have hit back against Israel, neighboring Gulf states, and targets critical to the world's production of oil and natural gas.

The intensity of the attacks and the lack of any apparent exit plan set the stage for a prolonged conflict with far-reaching consequences. Israel and the US have given conflicting answers about what exactly the war's objectives are or what the endgame might be.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu late Monday defended the decision to go to war, contending in an interview on Fox News Channel's "Hannity" that Iran was rebuilding "new sites, new places" that would make "their ballistic missile program and their atomic bomb program immune within months," without providing evidence.

Israel-US war on Iran live | France To Send Anti-Drone Systems To Cyprus After UK Base Attack: Report

France plans to send anti-missile and anti-drone systems to Cyprus after a British air base on the island was attacked by drones, the semi-official Cyprus News Agency (CNA) said on Tuesday.

The reported French aid to the island follows Greece's offer of assistance hours after RAF Akrotiri, a British sovereign base, was targeted in two separate drone incidents on Monday.

In the first instance an Iranian-made Shahed drone crashed into the runway of the base, causing limited damage. Hours later two other drones were intercepted.

France would send anti-missile and anti-drone systems, as well as a frigate, CNA reported. It said French President Emmanuel Macron communicated the intention to Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides early on Tuesday.

A Cypriot government source, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the report.

Greece on Monday dispatched four F-16 fighter jets to the island. Two frigates, one equipped with its anti-drone Centauros jamming system, were also sailing to Cyprus.

Centauros, which has been successfully deployed against Houthi rebels attacking shipping lanes off Yemen, has the capability of detecting and incapacitating low-flying drones, such as the one which crashed into RAF Akrotiri and evaded radars, Cypriot defence sources said.

Israel-US war on Iran live |Trump Officials Say Israel's Plans Helped Lead The US Into Iran War

The Trump administration and its allies in Congress presented a shifting new justification Monday for the US attack on Iran, with House Speaker Mike Johnson suggesting that the White House believed Israel was determined to act on its own, leaving the president with a "very difficult decision."

The Republican was speaking late Monday after a classified briefing at the Capitol, the first for congressional leaders since the start of the war, a joint US-Israel military campaign that killed Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and has quickly spiraled into a widening Middle East conflict. Hundreds have died, including at least six US military service personnel.

Johnson said the attack on Iran was a "defensive operation" because Israel was ready to act against Iran, "with or without American support." He said President Donald Trump and his team determined that Iran would immediately retaliate against US personnel and assets.

"The commander in chief has said this is going to be an operation that is short in duration," Johnson said. "We certainly hope that's true."

Market moves have been comparatively mild amid hopes that the crisis will be short-lived and not cause a major problem for the global economy.

But analysts warned that the longer it goes on the more painful it would be on the global economy as supply chains are hit and prices surge.

The Purim holiday is usually marked with boisterous street parades and costume parties to celebrate the Jewish victory over an ancient Persian ruler. This year, the celebrations moved into fortified bomb shelters as the country wages war against Iran's modern-day leaders.

In Tel Aviv on Monday, people of all ages wearing sequined suits, bunny ears, pirate costumes and peacock feathers streamed into a mall's underground parking lot that also functions as a bomb shelter for the traditional reading of the Purim story followed by a live band with dancing.

"It's all about choosing happiness, choosing to be joyful, no matter what else is going on," said Mariel Margulis, a Tel Aviv resident who had set up a tent in the parking garage and lived there for the past few days with her husband and 6-month old son. They dressed up as people having a bath, complete with bath robes, and their son, Amichai, as a rubber ducky, and created a bathtub play area for him next to their tent.

Purim, a holiday beloved by both religious and secular Jews, takes place in most of the Jewish world starting on Monday night. The holiday starts a day later in ancient walled cities, including Jerusalem.

US-Israel Attack Iran Live | US Marines Fired On Protesters Storming Consulate In Karachi

US Marines opened fire on demonstrators during the storming of the Karachi consulate over the weekend, two US officials said on Monday-a rare use of force at a diplomatic post that could sharply escalate tensions in the country amid widespread protests over the killing of Iran's leader.

Ten people were killed on Sunday when protesters breached the compound's outer wall after Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in strikes on Iran.

This would mark the first confirmation by US officials that Marines were involved in firing at the protestors.

US-Israel Attack Iran Live | Trump Takes Unconventional Approach To Communicating To Public About Its War In Iran

Typical of an unconventional presidency, the Trump administration waited more than 48 hours to make any live, public communication to the American people about why it had decided to go to war with Iran.

President Donald Trump discussed why he launched the attack prior to a White House ceremony honoring military heroes on Monday but took no questions from reporters.

The two days previous, Trump delivered two pre-taped statements that were released on Truth Social, the social media site owned by the president's media company, and granted telephone interviews to more than a dozen journalists - several of which produced fragmented responses that, to some, clouded as much as they cleared up.

The communications strategy opened Trump to criticism that he hadn't done enough to explain the rationale and objectives of the war, even as the American military suffered its first casualties. By contrast, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has teamed with the US against Iran, delivered two statements the day the war began and addressed reporters Monday at the site of a missile attack that killed nine people. The Israeli military has held multiple press briefings each day.

US-Israel Attack Iran Live | Limited Flights From UAE Begin As Governments Seek To Extract Citizens From Middle East

Travelers stranded by a widening war began departing the UAE aboard a small number of evacuation flights Monday, even as most commercial air traffic across the Middle East remained suspended.

The limited flights out of Dubai and Abu Dhabi took place as the US urged its own citizens in 13 countries, including UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon and Oman, to "depart now via commercial means due to serious safety risks."

Since US and Israeli strikes on Iran and retaliatory attacks on Israel and Gulf states started Saturday, commercial flights have been halted or heavily restricted, leaving tourists, business travellers, migrant workers and religious pilgrims stuck in hotels, airports and aboard cruise ships.

Airspace remained closed Monday over Iran, Iraq and Israel. Jordan instituted a temporary closure beginning Monday afternoon. Other countries in the Gulf - including Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia - had partial or temporary closures that could be extended, according to flight-tracking service Flightradar24.

About 13,000 of the roughly 32,000 flights scheduled into and out of the Middle East since Saturday have been canceled, aviation analytics firm Cirium said.

Iran‑Israel War News Live: Saudi Oil Refinery Targeted, Causing Fire

A Saudi oil refinery along the Gulf coast was targeted in an attack on Monday, a source familiar with the incident told AFP, as Iran launched a fresh barrage at countries across the region.

The source said the attack caused a fire at the Ras Tanura refinery but the blaze had already been extinguished.

A Saudi defence ministry spokesman said two drones had targeted the refinery and been intercepted, according to a statement posted by the Saudi Press Agency on X.

The Ras Tanura complex along the kingdom's eastern Gulf coast is home to one of the largest refineries in the entire Middle East and a cornerstone to the kingdom's energy sector.
