In Germany, particularly in Freiburg, street drains, popularly known as Bachle, are so well-maintained that people can even dip their feet into the clean waters. Recently, RJ and travel vlogger Purkhaa dropped a video on Instagram offering a peek into these Bachles. The clip captured residents relaxing by these drains and children sailing paper boats. The vlogger also revealed that tourists spend money just to watch the Bachles and click pictures.

Her side note read, "In India, we call it naali (drain), in Germany, they call it Bachle. Culture shock 101: what I used to jump over back home, people here dip their feet into (and kids sail paper boats in). Freiburg's tiny water canals running through the old town are actually centuries old, built for fire safety and water supply. Who knew a naali could be this fancy?"

The comments section buzzed with reactions:

"My German boyfriend showed this to me, saying it's a brook with so much happiness. I was so disappointed," wrote a user.

"I've lived in Freiburg for 10 years now, and it's a cultural heritage for everyone here," shared an individual.

"All humans deserve such a happy environment," read a thoughtful remark.

"This is gool in Hindi. It's a man-made open canal that you find near farms or crop fields for irrigation purposes. In Uttarakhand, we've them mostly everywhere. Maybe Bachle are the same but for a different purpose," guessed one person.
