For one man, named Akash Kawale, who shifted to Dubai recently, that exploration took him beyond the city limits. Just three weeks into his move, he decided to make a short trip to Abu Dhabi. What he found there surprised him in the best way. The man visited the newly opened BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi and shared a video of his experience online. "I Witnessed Ganga Aarti In UAE," he wrote while posting clips of the temple on Instagram.

His now-viral video takes viewers through his journey - starting in Dubai, driving down to Abu Dhabi, walking through the temple complex, and finally witnessing the evening aarti near a water body.

History Of BAPS Hindu Mandir

The BAPS Hindu Mandir is the first traditional Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi. Spread across 27 acres in Abu Mureikhah, right off the Dubai-Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Highway, the temple was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 14, 2025. The land itself was gifted by the UAE government, marking a significant gesture of cultural inclusivity.

If you are in Dubai, the drive to the temple takes about an hour, depending on traffic. Just get on Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) and head toward Abu Dhabi. The temple is located close to the highway, making it easy to find. Taxis, buses and private cars are all convenient options.

The temple is open to visitors daily. Morning hours are generally from 9 am to 12 noon, and evenings from 4 pm to 8 pm. However, timings can shift slightly on festival days, so it is best to check the official website or call ahead before planning your visit.
