- An X user shared how KL airport staff helped her catch a tight connecting flight
- An airport staffer assisted with immigration and escorted her to the gate quickly

Airports can be chaotic, especially during peak travel seasons. Missed flights, long security lines and last-minute scrambles are some common mishaps we have all experienced. Sometimes, a little kindness from a stranger can turn a potentially disastrous travel experience into a memorable one. A similar incident took place with an Indian woman at Kuala Lumpur airport. She was helped by a kind airport staffer who went above and beyond to make sure that she caught her flight.

Her post sparked comments from others who noted that airlines often go the extra mile to help passengers catch tight connections. Some even shared their own experiences of receiving assistance from airline staff.
One user wrote, "This is what they do when you have a connecting flight. The cost of not taking the passenger is sometimes too high. But they need to ensure the flight is not delayed, or they may miss the departure slot and face more expenses."

The cost of not taking the passenger is sometimes too high. However, they need to ensure the flight is not too delayed else they will miss the departure slot and that may lead to extended costs as well.
Another added, "It's good to be thankful. Anyways, it becomes very expensive for the airline if they miss boarding a passenger in such circumstances, so it was their headache they were so passionate to resolve."

An individual shared, "A few years back, my incoming flight to Mumbai was delayed by 20-30 minutes. There were four of us. IndiGo rushed us straight from the tarmac in their car to the waiting aircraft. It felt pretty embarrassing walking on board while 130+ passengers stared, knowing the whole plane had been held up just for us."

Tips For Travellers With Connecting Flights:
- Minimise your carry-on to avoid getting held up at security or during deplaning.
- Sit near the front on your first flight. This allows you to get off the plane more quickly to make your connection.
- Study a map of your connecting airport to know the layout and how to get between your arrival and departure gates, including any necessary transport like trains or shuttles.
- After your first flight lands, verify your connecting gate on airport screens or your airline's app. Gates can change.
- Have your boarding passes and passport accessible, especially for international connections.
