- A traveller left his backpack on a Bengaluru airport shuttle bus by mistake
- UPI digital transaction helped trace bus number to recover forgotten bag
- Traveller praised Bengaluru’s tech and staff assistance in viral social media post
Forgetting belongings while travelling can be a real hassle. While there are often systems/processes in place to try to recover them, success is not guaranteed every time. However, when one manages to get the lost items back, it is a great relief. A traveller in Bengaluru recently experienced the same, and his post about the incident has gone viral on social media. X user Jaskaran Singh explained that he travelled to Bengaluru airport on a shuttle. Before he could check in his luggage, he realised that he had left his backpack behind on the bus.
His problem was resolved through a simple technological solution. Since he had paid for his shuttle ticket through UPI, there was a documented digital transaction that was used to trace the number of the bus he was on earlier. By doing so, he managed to recover his forgotten bag. The X user wrote, "Love how this tech city solves everything." He also thanked the staff member who assisted him and posed with him for a photo. I once left my second mobile phone at the lounge. I realised as I got into the plane. I told the airhostess who in turn conveyed it to the ground staff. Even before take off I was told that it's been handed over to lost and found and I could pick it on return. #nammaairport
