Rail travel in Rajasthan is set for a major upgrade as Bikaner gears up to welcome its first Vande Bharat Express, expected to begin operations by mid-September. The high-speed semi-luxury train will link Bikaner with the national capital, making same-day return travel between the two cities possible for travellers with ease and comfort. Bikaner MP and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, confirmed the development on social media, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving the new train. In his post, he described it as a significant step towards the region's growth, saying, "Changing Bikaner, Progressing Bikaner!"

Route And Timings For Delhi-Bikaner Vande Bharat Express
According to officials of North Western Railway (NWR), the proposed service will depart from Bikaner at 5:45 am, halting at Ratangarh, Churu, and Rewari before reaching Delhi Cantt at 11:50 am. The return journey is expected to begin from Delhi Cantt at 4:45 pm, with the train reaching Bikaner by 11:00 pm the same evening.
"It is proposed that the Bikaner to Delhi Vande Bharat train is likely to start by mid-Sept. The idea is to connect the people of Bikaner, Churu, and Sujangarh to Delhi, and the train is likely to depart in the morning from Bikaner and is expected to return to Bikaner the same day in the evening," an officer with NWR told The Times of India.
Rajasthan's Growing Vande Bharat Network
This will be the fifth Vande Bharat train for Rajasthan. Currently, NWR operates four routes: Ajmer to Chandigarh via Jaipur and Delhi, Jaipur to Udaipur, Jodhpur to Sabarmati, and Udaipur to Agra.
Bikaner is not the only city in Rajasthan set to benefit. A Jodhpur-Delhi Vande Bharat Express will begin service soon. While the launch date is yet to be finalised, the tentative plan suggests the train will leave Jodhpur at 5:30 am and reach Delhi Cantt by 1:30 pm, with stops at Degana, Makrana, Jaipur, and Alwar. The return service is proposed to depart from Delhi at 3:10 pm and arrive in Jodhpur at 11:15 pm.
