A beautiful hill station that's serene but not isolated, popular but not overwhelming - it's Nainital for me. I have always loved the city, but my last trip there rekindled my love for it - all because of my wonderful stay at Shervani Hilltop Nainital. Surrounded by pine, oak and deodar trees, Shervani Hilltop Nainital feels like a quiet retreat that lets you experience the calmer side of this popular hill station. I stayed here with my family for two nights, and from the moment we arrived, the property gave us exactly what we were looking for - comfort, greenery and warm, attentive hospitality. Spread across a gentle slope, the hotel is designed to blend into its natural surroundings rather than overpower them, making it an ideal escape if you want to slow down and truly unwind in Nainital.
A Location That Balances Convenience And Calm
One of the biggest advantages of Shervani Hilltop is its location. It sits slightly away from the crowded Mall Road, which means you are spared the constant traffic and noise that Nainital is often known for. At the same time, key attractions and viewpoints are still within easy reach. This balance makes it especially suitable for families - you can head out to explore during the day and return to a peaceful, green haven by evening. In fact, the property offers complimentary car rides to the famous Mall Road and Naini Lake and back, which I found very convenient. The approach road itself is scenic, and once inside the property, you feel pleasantly removed from the bustle outside.

Surrounded By Lush Greenery
The landscape is one of the hotel's strongest highlights. Lush lawns, tall trees and flowering plants surround the property, creating a refreshing mountain atmosphere. Breakfast in the outdoor seating area is a treat, as you can sit in the lawn, soak in the sun and enjoy the natural calm. For anyone travelling from the plains, this connection with nature is instantly soothing.

Comfortable Rooms For Different Needs
Shervani Hilltop offers a range of rooms and suites designed to suit couples, families and longer stays. Our room was comfortable and well-maintained, with cosy interiors that felt appropriate for a hill station. Large windows let in plenty of natural light and views of greenery, which added to the overall sense of relaxation. The rooms are not overly flashy but focus on comfort and functionality - something that matters more than luxury frills when you are travelling with family.

Dining Experiences That Stand Out
Food was one of the highlights of our stay. The main restaurant has an extensive menu with regional Kumaoni dishes, classic Indian favourites and international options. Breakfast was generous, and the live egg and pasta counters were an instant hit with my child. Watching the food being prepared fresh added to the experience, and it made mornings feel relaxed rather than rushed.
I tried Kumaoni chicken here for the first time, and it turned out to be a memorable introduction to local flavours - mildly spiced, aromatic and comforting. The outdoor breakfast seating, combined with good food and mountain air, made for some of our most enjoyable moments at the hotel.

Courtyard Bar And Nursery Cafe
Evenings at the Courtyard Bar are perfect for unwinding with your spouse or friends. Done up in dark hues with cosy lighting, the bar has an intimate, relaxed vibe. The bar collection is impressive, and it is easy to spend a long, leisurely evening here after a day of sightseeing.

The Nursery Cafe, on the other hand, offers a completely different experience. Walking in feels like browsing through a bright, green nursery, with plants and natural light all around. The cafe serves Italian comfort food and cafe-style favourites. We loved the margherita pizza, pastas, chicken salad, burgers and shakes - simple, well-made and satisfying.

A Thoughtful Space For Kids
Travelling with a child felt easy here, thanks to the dedicated kids' room. There were plenty of activities to keep my child engaged, including indoor games like carrom board, chess and table tennis, along with painting sessions. This space gave us some relaxed downtime, knowing our child was happily occupied. There is also a play area outdoors with swings among the greens for kids.

Overall, our stay at Shervani Hilltop Nainital was comfortable, enjoyable and marked by excellent hospitality. The staff was consistently attentive and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. With its green surroundings, convenient location, varied dining options and thoughtful facilities for families, the hotel delivers a well-rounded hill station experience. If you are looking for a peaceful yet practical place to stay in Nainital, this is one property that truly delivers on comfort and warmth.
