While there is no chance of feeling bored (even during a very long layover), if you wish to step out and experience the city, you can now do so for free with a guided tour. Changi Airport is offering four curated tour itineraries, each with sightseeing routes and two brief photo stops at iconic landmarks. For transit travellers with a minimum of 5.5 hours but less than 24 hours until their connecting flight, these 2.5-hour guided tours offer a snapshot of Singapore. What makes it even better - they are completely free of cost.

Who Can Join The Free Singapore Tours?

The following eligibility requirements must be met to join a Free Singapore Tour from Changi Airport:

  • You must be a transit or transfer passenger at Changi Airport.
  • Your checked-in baggage should be tagged to your final destination.
  • Your layover must be between 5.5 (minimum) and 24 hours (maximum). Your flight timings must align with the tour schedule.
  • You must account for enough time to disembark and reach the registration counter.
  • Passengers can enter and exit Singapore only once during the layover, as per regulations from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore.

How To Register For A Free Changi Airport Tour

  • You may pre-book one tour itinerary up to fifty days before your travel date. Walk-in registrations are also available at tour booths located within the transit area, subject to seat availability.
  • Upon arrival at Changi Airport, remain within the transit area and do not clear Arrival Immigration. The Free Singapore Tour booths are located at:
  • Terminal 2: Level 2, Departure Transit Hall (Near Gate F50), 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Terminal 3: Level 2, Departure Transit Hall (Near Gate A1-A8), 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Where To Store Your Cabin Baggage

Passengers with bulky cabin baggage, alcohol or duty-free items must deposit them at a baggage storage counter in the transit area before joining the tour. Fees are applicable. Electronic devices cannot be stored and must be carried with you during the tour.

While the tour itself is free, optional experiences are chargeable and must be paid for during the tour.

This 2.5-hour tour covers Singapore's historical and modern blend. Walk through the Civic District, admire the Marina Bay skyline, and stop for photos at the Merlion and Marina Bay Sands.
