Robbers decamp with gold ornaments, cash

Namakkal: Robbers broke into a house and decamped with gold ornaments weighing 30 sovereigns in Namakkal today, police said.

The house inmates had gone to attend a ceremony after locking their mother inside.

When they returned, they found the door open and valuables, including cash, worth Rs seven lakh missing.

The woman was sleeping when the theft occurred, police said.
