Chennai:
A Malaysian national was arrested at the airport in Chennai today for allegedly smuggling seven kg of gold, valued around Rs 2.50 crore in the international market.
Kumar Sinnaiah, who landed from Kualalumpur by a private airlines flight, was detained by the Air Intelligence Unit of Customs after they found in his possession, seven gold bars, each weighing one kg.
Airport sources said he had concealed the precious metal in his body.
