When it comes to eye makeup, we have to admit that we all have a soft spot for eyeliner. I mean, how can we not? It adds an elegant touch to just about any makeup look, pairs magically with a red pout and can be worn in so many ways.
One of those ways is upside down eyeliner. Call it the effect of Stranger Things or just another trend the beauty world throws our way, we can't deny that upside down eyeliner looks incredible. And we aren't making it up! Celebrities from Mandy Moore to Olivia Munn and Shay Mitchell have all sported the reverse eyeliner trend, sometimes in bright pops of colour.
Bollywood isn't far behind either. Our very own Shraddha Kapoor wore the upside down eyeliner trend for a recent appearance. Along with her peaches-and-cream complexion and nude lips, Shraddha wore thickly applied black eyeliner that's winged out at the outer end. Want to try this easy eye makeup trend with your Indian wear? Then follow these steps.
Step 1 - Start by pulling your lower lid down very gently and applying a line of kajal like Revlon's Kohl Kajal Pencil to the lower waterline from end to end. Don't worry about being messy at this part.
Step 2 - Next, take the same kajal and apply it over the lower lash line. Ensure that it's thoroughly applied so that there are no blank spots left between the waterline and lash line.
Step 3 - Use a pointed smudger brush to brush out the edges of the kohl on the lash line, else it will look too stark.
Step 4 - Finally, take the pointed tip of an eyeliner brush and wing out the edges of the eyeliner on the outer end of the eye with liquid eyeliner like Revlon's Fabuliner Eyeliner.
You're now ready to rock with your upside down eyeliner just like Shraddha Kapoor.
