1. Tihar Food Court, Delhi

This unique restaurant lies within the complex of the Tihar Jail on Jail Road in Delhi. What makes this restaurant famous is that it is run by the inmates. Everything from preparing meals, waiting at the tables, and even managing accounts, is done by the inmates of the Jail.

2. New Lucky Restaurant, Ahmedabad

Contradictory to its name, New Lucky Restaurant gives its customers an eerie experience of dining with the dead. This restaurant functions in a place that was a graveyard once. Not just that, there are graveyards inside the restaurant too.

3. Mirchi And Mime, Mumbai

Mirchi and Mime in Mumbai employ servers that are specially-abled. While the word 'Mirchi'  suggests the degree of spice and flavour of food on offer, Mime refers to the waiters at the restaurant who are hearing and speech impaired. There is a sign marked for every row and column; to place that order, you must mime that symbol to your appointed waiter.

4. Taste Of Darkness Restaurant, Hyderabad

'The Taste of Darkness' in Hyderabad allows you the thrill of savouring unique flavours in complete darkness. While Tihar Food Court is an actual prison, this restaurant has taken more of a real-life approach. Kaidi Kitchen is set up like a jail, complete with staff dressed as convicts and jailers. The idea is to give the customer a taste of what it feels like to be a prisoner, but the experience could be likened to enjoying a meal on a movie set.

8. Seva Cafe, Ahmedabad

With a warm social message, this cafe is based on the concept of giving forward. It is run by volunteers from around the world, who create an atmosphere of service and friendship.

9. Dialogue In The Dark, Bangalore

This restaurant allows you to experience the life of a visually disabled person for a short time. At Dialogue in the Dark, you can choose from either a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian option for your meal and you cannot see what you eat. You have to keep your mobile phone and other gadgets away too. 

10. Veli Lake Floating Restaurant, Thiruvananthapuram

This restaurant offers a unique experience of dining over water. It also provides the opportunity for a beach visit and a boat ride to its diners.
