
After the pandemic hit the country, travel had been in a slump for a while. But fortunately, the country is making a comeback as far as travel is concerned. As per reports, India experienced a boom in the aviation sector as 4,56,082 passengers flew in a single day. 30th April 2023 would be marked as the record-breaking day when 2,978 domestic flights carried over 4.5 lakh passengers across the country.

New record set amongst domestic flights
The country's economic recovery has led to an increase in travellers, post the adversities of the pandemic. More than 35 million passengers were carried by domestic airlines in just the first couple of months of 2023.
Due to the increasing demand, India has around 1,100 fleet deliveries pending over the next few years according to ratings agency ICRA. Earlier in February, Tata Group-owned Air India announced a record deal for 470 jets from Airbus and Boeing, the largest in global aviation history.

Increase in the number of flight passengers
According to an International Air Transport Association (IATA) report published in February this year, domestic air travel in India has significantly increased reaching 85.7% of pre-COVID levels in 2022.
It was also predicted that in 2023, the figure would reach between 14.5 and 15 crores by December as people travel without any restrictions.
