- Aishwarya Rai wore an abyss-blue Amit Aggarwal gown at Cannes on May 22
- She wore a blush-hued strapless gown by Sophie Couture for the Lights On Womens Worth Award
- Aaradhya Bachchan made her Cannes debut in a red satin ball-gown with bodice detailing
After online speculation and a whirlwind of chatter on social media, Aishwarya Rai turned heads at Cannes on May 22, wearing an abyss-blue Amit Aggarwal couture gown. Fashion enthusiasts were not over her first look, and the 52-year-old star took over the internet with her second look in a pink-hued gown by Sophie Couture.
But the biggest reveal was Aaradhya Bachchan's official debut at the prestigious film festival in a red gown. While she is yet to debut on the red carpet, the 14-year-old accompanied her mother at the 6th edition of the Lights On Women's Worth Award.
Following the mother-daughter duo, other celebrities, including L'Oreal Paris ambassadors Eva Longoria, Gillian Anderson, and Ariana Greenblatt, made an appearance in their finest.
Aishwarya Rai's Second Look At Cannes
For the Lights On Women's Worth Award, Aishwarya Rai opted for a blush-hued gown by Dubai-based label Sophie Couture. Cinched at the waist, the strapless outfit featured a sweetheart neckline.
With a fitted bodice and flared hemline, the gown brought the right amount of pink drama to the event. But the star of the ensemble was a sheer cape, secured around her neck. It featured a train that overlapped with the gown's train.
For her hairstyle, Aishwarya Rai kept her soft waves side-parted. Petal-toned lipstick, pink cheeks, and pink eyeshadow added a flawless finish to her look.
Aaradhya Bachchan's Debut Look At Cannes
Accompanying her mother, who is a Cannes regular, Aaradhya Bachchan made her debut at the film festival wearing a red satin gown. It had bodice detailing, and the skirt featured a ball-gown silhouette.
She carried a shimmery red dupatta with a knotted centre, giving it a cape-like effect. It was secured at the back. When it came to their ensembles, the daughter looked like a spitting image of her mother, albeit in a bold red avatar.
She centre-parted her hair, opted for red lips, and kept the makeup minimal. Aishwarya and Aaradhya posed at the Lights On Women's Worth Award.
