5 Kurti Mistakes You Might Be Making Right Now!

All of us are guilty of loving our LBDs or summer dresses, but when it comes to comfort dressing, we love throwing on a kurti over a pair of jeans, yes?! But who would have thought one can make mistakes while wearing a kurta too. Unbelievable? We're with you on that. But, I am sure, you must have seen a lot of women wear kurtas that have made you cringe. And that's exactly why! So to never feel cringe-y again and even if it's comfort dressing- bring on your A-game! 

1. Not Choosing The Right Fabric
Synthetic fabrics like polyester are a big no-no. They do not flatter most body types. Select fabrics according to the occasion. Cotton or silks, depending on the weather, work well for your everyday. Chiffons, brocade are great for an important occasion. 

2. Not Keeping In Mind Your Body Type
Wear your kurta according to your body type or just work around it. If you love wearing short kurtas but your frame is petite, then throw on a long jacket on top. It'll create an illusion of elongating your body. If you're curvy and love wearing fitted kurtas, make sure it's properly fitted from your waist and pair it up with a pair of fitted straight pants. 

3. Not Choosing The Right Lingerie
Ladies, wearing a different coloured underwear is mostly a major fashion faux par. Wearing a black bra with a white translucent kurta, uhh no. It's advised to wear a nude bra with a white kurta or a black bra with darker shades. 

4. Not Choosing The Right Size 
Many times, when you're buying a ready-made kurta, the size isn't perfect. Everybody is different and these kurtas are made in bulk, so that's fine. But while buying them, make sure you give your measurements and get them altered to your perfect size. 

5. Not Choosing the Right Shape 
The biggest mistake we make is to pick up a kurta which is ill fitted. Then, even when we get it altered, its never that perfect shape. Make sure you get darts put on your back and front. It will help get you the desired shape. Just make sure your tailor does not stitch those darts right up till the bust area. You don't want to look like Dimple Kapadia from Bobby!
