When it comes to setting fashion trends, we first look to our favourite celebrities. Whether they are taking a stroll through the city, shooting for a movie or posting on social media, their starry snaps are the first stylish indicator that something is set to be big and seen everywhere in the next few weeks. 2020 was a year unlike any other. Even though fashion weeks went the virtual route and airport fashion hasn't bounced yet, celebrity fashion trends in 2020 didn't die down that easily. Our favourite stars from Bollywood and Hollywood took to social media this year to start trends and make waves in 2020. From revisiting retro style to keeping fits as billowy as possible, 2020's celebrity fashion trends definitely couldn't be ignored through the course of the year.
Bollywood And Hollywood Celebrity Fashion Trends In 2020
We're revisiting the most popular fashion trends in 2020 started by Bollywood and Hollywood celebrities.
1. Sequin Sarees
Through the course of 2020's festive season, sequin sarees topped the charts in celebrity circles and were worn by Tamannaah Bhatia, Malaika Arora and many more. Starry parties and festive shoots for the season featured glittering sequin sarees in single tones as well as in ombre shades, which was a Manish Malhotra favourite this time around. It was safe to say that celebrity style shone brightly.
2. Monogram everything
A designer bag may be quite the status symbol but 2020 took it one step further by dressing from head to toe in designer duds. Kylie Jenner and her Kardashian crew were among the first to popularize the trend which featured tracksuits and co-ord sets covered with splashy luxury monogramming. How's that for the ultimate status symbol!
3. Micro Bags
Big bags were so last because in 2020, they got so much smaller. In fact, they were so small that they were at times, completely impractical but simultaneously very chic. Sonam Kapoor and more sported the micro handbag trend, also termed the mini bag trend, which lent a gorgeous finishing touch to an outfit.

4. Neon Hues
Reality may have been bleak in 2020 but at least colour palettes didn't have to be. Celebrities like Nora Fatehi and Ananya Panday donned blindingly bright fluorescent hues in yellow, green and pink that stole the show with their shade itself.
5. Baggy Fits
With nowhere to go but the bedroom, kitchen and balcony, fits and silhouettes went to big and billowy territory. It was surprising to celebrities, who often stick to bodycon fits, opt for oversized ones instead. Billie Eilish and her signature baggy tracksuits can be credited as one of the first to start the very comfortable trend.
6. Tie-Dye Prints
The days of hippie vibes returned once more and with it, tie-dye prints. Over t-shirts, sweatshirts or dresses, the breezy print found itself to a staple, especially in tracksuits worn by celebrities. With time in hand in plenty during the year, many even turned to DIY-ing their tie-dye prints.

7. Scarf Face Masks
Face masks were the top safety accessory in 2020 but you can trust fashion folk to make it a little more stylish. Olivia Palermo went ahead and layered her face mask with a scarf on top of it, which added more coverage and also a gorgeous touch to the face mask. No one wonder this fashion trend saw so many takers.
8. Bodysuits
Who needs t-shirts and blouses when you've got a bodysuit, right? The garment turned out to be a mainstay in outfits and was layered with skirts and trousers for a complete look, like sported by Diana Penty.
9. Bucket Hats
The hottest hat trend of 2020 was definitely the bucket hat and Hollywood celebrities specially took to it quickly. Giving their outfits a retro touch, the bucket hat was certainly reinvented in 2020 from being a fishing accessory back in the day.
10. Mom Jeans
Skinny jeans can't come to the phone right now. Why? Because they're dead. The trend, that is. With oversized, baggy fits taking over 2020 fashion, the fit extended to denims as well. Mom jeans could be incredibly versatile and styled in a formal or casual way, as seen by Deepika Padukone.
