Mumbai:
Heavy rainfall in last few days has disrupted normal life in the Konkan region and in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. Konkan Railways has been badly hit; many trains have been cancelled on the route after the ground under the track caved in near Nivsar station.
Currently, no trains are running as Konkan Railway authorities are trying hard to fix the problem. Many important trains like Mangalore Express, Mangalore-Matsyagandha and Madgaon-Sawantwadi Express are cancelled.
Railway sources have said the route will remain closed today as well as tomorrow.
Just a few days ago there was also a landslide in the same region. Due to heavy rainfall Mumbai-Goa highway is also waterlogged at many places.
