Pawan Chamling Wishes People On Occasion Of 'Gandhi Jayanti'

Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling has conveyed his best wishes to the people on Gandhi Jayanti.

Gangtok: Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling has conveyed his best wishes to the people on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti today.

The Chief Minister in his greetings also urged the people of Sikkim to cherish the principles of Ahimsa and truth - the cardinal principles of the Mahatma.

In his message the Chief Minister said, globally, Mahatma Gandhi or (Bapu) is considered as a symbol of peace, non-violence and freedom for teaching the philosophy of 'Ahimsa' for the well-being of the people in the society.

His teachings are still remembered and used for resolving current conflicts, avoiding violence and finding peaceful solutions to make the world a better place to live in, Mr Chamling said.

In his message the Chief Minister further said the relevance of Mahatma's message for truth and non-violence, communal harmony and tolerance is more important on Saturday than ever before.
