Mumbai: Police on Saturday night registered a complaint against Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, his wife Twinkle Khanna and Lakme Fashion Week organisers for allegedly indulging in obscenity in public during the fashion show in Mumbai.
"On inquiry, we found Akshay Kumar guilty (of committing the obscene act). We have registered a case against Akshay, Twinkle and the organisers of Lakme Fashion Week," a police officer of Vakola police station said.
"The case has been registered against them under IPC Sec 294 (obscene acts and songs) tonight," the officer added.
Mid-way during his ramp walk, the actor went towards his wife Twinkle, who was seated in the front row, and allegedly asked her to unbutton his jeans.
Later, a Mumbai-based social activist Anil Nair filed a written complaint against the trio following which police initiated an inquiry on whether to lodge a complaint against them.
Satisfied with police action, Anil Nair said he knew law would take its own course.
Akshay has already apologised if his action has hurt the sentiments of anyone.
