Kodai molestation case: Police launch manhunt for accused

Kodaikanal: The Kodaikanal police launched a man hunt in Kerala on Friday to trace the 73-year-old educationist who was accused of molesting a class IX student.

The girl, who was studying at the Kodaikanal Public school, hailed from Bhutan. She had complained that M L Bright, who runs a chain of schools in Tamil Nadu, molested her when she was alone in her room on June 1.

The school denied these charges saying it's a false complaint as the student had defaulted in payment of school fees subsidised for her at Rs 500 a month.

The 14-year-old was staying along with 17 other girls at the hostel, is now hospitalised. Police say that the investigations would continue and guilty would be brought to books.

This is the second such case in Tamil Nadu in less than a year. In 2009, a teacher was arrested for molesting a child in a school toilet. (With PTI Inputs)
